Which fill should I choose for my gabion?

Before choosing the type of fill, you first need to check the recommended grading. If the grading of your materials is smaller than recommended, your fill may escape from the gabion or create gaps over time (settling, etc.), leaving unsightly voids in the gabion.

You will find the recommended grading for our Fimurex gabions in the specifications of each product.

Once the grading has been determined, you can choose which type of fill you want in your gabion.

All kinds of fills are possible:

If you want a "neat" finish, it is best to use angular stones such as crushed concrete, quarry stones or slate bricks.

You can also fill your gabion with pebbles, round stones or slate mulch. Don’t hesitate to play with the colour of the stones or their translucency. For example, fit an LED strip into a layer of crushed glass to light up your gabion, or draw a pattern using two different shades of stone.

For an original touch, you can fill your gabion with other materials such as wood chips, logs, paper balls, etc.

Fimurex Gabions also offers a range of recycled plastic stones and pebbles, Made in France! Choose this lightweight, eco-friendly fill to fill your gabions with ease.

Let your imagination run wild!
