Enhance your furniture with Douglas fir

When choosing furniture for an outdoor space, we always try to favour sturdy, weather-resistant materials. You might think plastic is our best ally, yet there are far more natural and environmentally friendly alternatives.

At Fimurex Gabions, we like to offer our customers solutions that are more environmentally friendly and more in harmony with their outdoor space. With this in mind, our team decided to choose Douglas fir for its seats and wooden tops.

What are the benefits of choosing Douglas fir?
As well as its warm colour, this wood species is highly resistant to external attack, whether from the weather, insects or fungi. Its naturally rot-resistant properties make maintenance easy and mean no preservative treatment is needed. What is more, our Fimurex wooden furniture stays strong, even as it ages. Douglas fir is one of the few wood species that retains its quality year after year. The only change you will notice is in its colour, which can turn grey over time.

Choosing a seat or a wooden top to pair with your gabion means opting for authentic, natural decor while favouring durable outdoor furniture. With our various powder-coating options and the many fill possibilities, you can personalise your outdoor space and make it unique.
