Anchoring or base plate installation: what is the difference?

Choosing the type of installation is an important step. Installing your gabion on a sound base is essential to ensure its durability and strength. Our team is here to advise you on the most suitable installation method for your project.

Anchoring installation: what does it involve?
Anchoring installation is carried out directly in the ground. You simply need to cast concrete footings to secure the supports on which the gabion will be installed. It is essential to respect a minimum anchoring depth according to the height of your structure:

  • 40 cm for a height of 100 cm
  • 50 cm for a height of 150 cm
  • 60 cm for heights of 180 and 200 cm

Base plate installation: what changes?
Unlike anchoring, base plate installation is carried out directly on a concrete slab. This must be at least 20 cm thick to ensure the stability and strength of the structure.
